SEEM Work Study Programme Briefing Session
Date: December 2, 2004
Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Venue: T. Y. Wong Hall, Ho Sin Hang Engineering Building
Any Year 1 and Year 2 students of SEEM are welcomed.
Dear Year 2 students,
The SEEM department is going to introduce the Work-Study Programme
to all of you who are currently in Year 2 of our degree programme.
The Work-Study Programme is launched in the academic year of 2004/2005.
The main feature of the Work-Study Programme is the industrial training
component that plays a vital role in the formation of a professional
engineer.
The industrial training consists of a single 12-month
period. The students will commence training after the completion
of their 2nd year final examination. During this period, students
in the Programme will follow a structured training programme and
acquire a wide range of skills that are essential for their development
as engineers.
All students interested in joining the programme
should apply to the Programme Coordinator, Prof. Chris Yang, in
February/March of 2005. Details about job openings and applications
will be available in late January. There will be recruitment talks
in February. Interviews may be offered after applications between
February and April. Final offers will be announced in June.
I strongly encourage all of you to take this opportunity
to broaden your experience during your study in SEEM. If you have
any enquiry, please feel free to contact Prof. Chris Yang (yang@se.cuhk.edu.hk).
Yours,
Li Duan, Department Head of SEEM
