Overview
The ERP Lab of the Systems Engineering & Engineering
Management Dept of CUHK, established in 1998, supports research
and teaching for enterprise management solutions, including logistics
and supply chain management, e-commerce and operations planning.
It is necessary for companies to have dynamic strategies
to meet the challenges of today's fast-paced business world. The
ability to respond nimbly to new customer needs and seize market
opportunities as they arise is crucial. Modern logistics management
requires seamless co-ordination of goods production, material distribution/transport
and information flow. Enterprise planning systems which satisfy
the full range of business requirements, including financial accounting
and controlling, sales and distribution, materials management, production
planning, and human resources management, have been demonstrated
to be a powerful tool.
With worth more than 20 million HK$ generous support
from local industry, the Enterprise Resources Planning Laboratory(ERP
Lab) provides a state-of-art facilities for teaching and research,
which include one IBM Server AS/400, one Digital Server 4100, and
Enterprise Planning Systems.
Research in the ERP Lab addresses both basic and
applied research issues, including supply chain management, enterprise
resource planning and optimization, production logistics, manufacturing
systems modeling, business process reengineering, and manufacturing
information systems.
The state-of-the-art systems in the ERP Lab also
