In this talk, Professor Li will give us a brief introduction to the
logistics infrastructure in China. It emphasizes the highway structure and
port network. The challenges faced by the logistics industry will also be
discussed.

Dr. Li is currently a professor of Operations Management in the School of
Management at Fudan University. He obtained a BE degree in aircraft
manufacturing and a Master degree in computer aided design/manufacturing
from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a PhD in
Operations Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his
doctoral study in the US, Prof Li had worked as an engineer in the aircraft
manufacturing industry for ten years. After completing his PhD, he joined
National University of Singapore, first as a Lecturer and then Senior
Lecturer. He has been with Fudan since 2000. Prof Li\'s research interests
are in supply chain management and logistics, production planning and
controlling, and data envelopment analysis. His publications appeared in
various internal journals, such as European Journal of Operational Research,
International Journal of Production Economics, and International Journal of
Operations and Quantitative Management.
