Stem cell research
and its impact on our future life (Strongly recommend!) |
| Speaker: |
Prof. Ge |
| Date: |
Thursday May 11, 2006 |
| Time: |
4:00pm - 5:00pm |
| Venue: |
Room 513, MMW Engineering Building, CUHK |
| Abstract: |
Prof. Ge is a faculty member of Dept of
Biology, a recipient of VC's Exemplary Teaching Award 2003.
Prof. Ge gave us a wonderful lecture on the evolution theory
last year. We believe that most of us still remember the
impressive pictures and the powerful presentation of Prof Ge.
This year we have the honor again: Prof Ge agrees to give us
another lecture on the human stem cell research, which is his
own area of research. As we know, the stem cell research is
generating enormous amount of interests, even for the general
public: it is breath-taking, impact-making, controversial, and
touches the very bottomline of human morality. This will be a
unique chance for us, the system engineers, to taste the
first-hand information from a real expert on the mind-boggling
issues of life and its copies.
As usual, snack and drinks would be provided during the
gathering. Please feel free to suggest to me what kinds of food
you would like to have. |
