Professor Anthony So received the 2014 IEEE Communications Society Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award

Our final year students have won the 2nd Runner Up prize and Merit prize in the HKIE Manufacturing & Industrial Division Student Project Competition 2013-2014

Prof. Li Duan delivered his inaugural lecture on 15 April as Patrick Huen Wing Ming Professor of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management on the topic 'Taking the Challenge in Coping with Time Inconsistency in Dynamic Decision Making'.

Mr. Xiaojun Qian, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, was awarded the Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship 2010.

Mr XiaojunQian won the Best Student Paper Award in the 5th Beijing-Hong Kong International Doctoral Forum-2010.

Dr. Wan Xiangwei won a Second-place Prize at the 2010 Best Student Research Paper Award Competition of Financial Service Session, INFORMS.

Mr. Qian Xiaojun won "2010 Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Award", and "2010 Best paper award" for the International BJ-HK Doctoral Forum.

Prof. Shuzhong ZHANG won 2009 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award.

Prof. Helen Mei Ling MENG and her research team won the Level 2 Prize in Technological Advancement of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards 2009.

Di Wu, Yiping Ke, Jeffrey Xu Yu won the Best Research Paper Award of Dasfaa'10 for the paper "Detecting Leaders from Correlated Time Series".

Ms. Ida Pui Yu HUI won the Best Poster Award of the 9th ACM-HK Student Research and Career Day 2009.

Prof. Kam Fai Wong, in his capacity of Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology of Peking University, has successfully secured a National 863 project.

Prof. Frank Chen's paper has received the IIE Transactions on Scheduling and Logistics Best Paper Award .

SEEM students have been selected to represent CUHK to compete in 2006 e-Challenge Cup in Shandong, China, after winning a Silver Award for the HongKong-Macau-Taiwan Section of the Competition.

A SEEM student's project has been selected as the Champion of Undergraduate Individual category in the competition for the VCCI.

Professor David Yao was elected an INFORMS Fellow.

SEEM professors have won two 2005 NSFC/RGC Grants in the Area of Management Science.

A group of four SEEM Final Year Students, Chan Pak Lun, Leung Ting Chi, Ng Yin Pan, and Qin Guojian (supervised by Professor Janny Leung), won the Silver Award in the Final Year Project Competition organized by the Engineering Faculty in May 2005. Their Project analyses the Modelling of the Lift Service in the Engineering building and Provides an Interesting Animation Simulating the Lift Operation and Service.

Professor Janny Leung has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award 2004 for the Faculty of Engineering.

On Thursday July 14 2005, ATOIP'2005 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan as a Parallel Workshop within the Seventeenth International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (SEKE'2005).

Dr. Sitong Tan and Prof. Houmin Yan have won the Best Paper Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) for the focus issue on Operations Engineering of IIE Transactions for 2003-2004. The paper is entitled "Designing an assembly process with stochastic material arrivals," (IIE Transactions, Vol. 35, 2003, 803-815, coauthored with CY Lee).

Prof. Xunyu Zhou was elected an IEEE Fellow, with the following citation:
for contributions to the theory and applications of stochastic control.

Prof. Yan received the Wickhan-Skinner Best paper Award from the 2nd World Conference on Production and Operations Management and the Society of Production and Operations Management(POMs). The paper is entitled "Coordination of Supply Chains with Risk-Averse Agents" (POM, Vol. 13, 2004, 135 -149, coauthored with X. Gan and S. Sethi).

CUHK Engineering Students Win Regional Championship in Microsoft Imagine Cup 2004 Competition .
They will represent Hong Kong to compete in the Microsoft Imagine Cup World Finals in Brazil in July 2004.

"The Virtual Performer" joint project participated by WONG Ka Ho (SEEM, M.Phil. Year 1) and WANG Jianqing (CSE, MPhil Year 2) awarded Level 2 Prize at the Challenge Cup Competition.

Professors Yao, Zhang and Zhou win SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize.

Professor Helen Meng has been awarded a grant of HKD 4million from the Research Grants Council Central Allocation.

Professor Xunyu Zhou and Professor Chris Yang, have won the Exemplary Teaching Awards of 2002.

Professor Meng and her research team develop the CU VOCAL Voice Alert System - the first Cantonese text-to-speech synthesis Web Service on Microsoft's .NET platform.

Professor Lam Wai is awarded an ITF project entitled Knowledge Management System Based on Chinese Text Clustering and Classification Algorithm.

Professor Shu-Cherng Fang has been selected to receive IIE Fellow Award.

Tsan-Ming (Jason) Choi has received the Best Paper Award in ACM Postgraduate Research Paper Contest 2002.

Professor Shuzhong Zhang has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award 2001.

Professor Helen Meng has been awarded a grant of HKD 5,656,000 from the Innovation and Technology Fund.
