Mr. Qian Xiaojun won "2010 Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Award", and "2010 Best paper award" for the International BJ-HK Doctoral Forum.
Prof. Shuzhong ZHANG won 2009 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award.
Ms. Ida Pui Yu HUI won the Best Poster Award of the 9th ACM-HK Student Research and Career Day 2009.
SEEM students have been selected to represent CUHK to compete in 2006 e-Challenge Cup in Shandong, China, after winning a Silver Award for the HongKong-Macau-Taiwan Section of the Competition.
Two student received the best student paper award (shared by two groups: CUHK and UIUC).

SEEM professors have won two 2005 NSFC/RGC Grants in the Area of Management Science.
A group of four SEEM Final Year Students, Chan Pak Lun, Leung Ting Chi, Ng Yin Pan, and Qin Guojian (supervised by Professor Janny Leung), won the Silver Award in the Final Year Project Competition organized by the Engineering Faculty in May 2005. Their Project analyses the Modelling of the Lift Service in the Engineering building and Provides an Interesting Animation Simulating the Lift Operation and Service.
Professor Janny Leung has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award 2004 for the Faculty of Engineering.
On Thursday July 14 2005, ATOIP'2005 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan as a Parallel Workshop within the Seventeenth International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (SEKE'2005).
Dr. Sitong Tan and Prof. Houmin Yan have won the Best Paper Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) for the focus issue on Operations Engineering of IIE Transactions for 2003-2004. The paper is entitled "Designing an assembly process with stochastic material arrivals," (IIE Transactions, Vol. 35, 2003, 803-815, coauthored with CY Lee).
Prof. Xunyu Zhou was elected an IEEE Fellow, with the following citation:
for contributions to the theory and applications of stochastic control.
Prof. Yan received the Wickhan-Skinner Best paper Award from the 2nd World Conference on Production and Operations Management and the Society of Production and Operations Management(POMs). The paper is entitled "Coordination of Supply Chains with Risk-Averse Agents" (POM, Vol. 13, 2004, 135 -149, coauthored with X. Gan and S. Sethi).
Professors Yao, Zhang and Zhou win SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize.
Professor Xunyu Zhou and Professor Chris Yang, have won the Exemplary Teaching Awards of 2002.
Professor Shu-Cherng Fang has been selected to receive IIE Fellow Award.
Professor Shuzhong Zhang has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award 2001.
