Course Code and Name: SEEM4540 Open Systems for E-Commerce

Course Objectives:

 

Overview the technologies and mechanisms of open systems. Advanced Internet applications including electronic commerce using open system and Web technologies. Multimedia applications over open systems. Applications on wireless and mobile network.

Course Outcomes:

 

  1. Able to apply the knowledge on networking in terms of algorithms, protocol design, large system design
  2. Able to design/implement e-commerce, distributed web applications on the Internet
  3. Able to conduct experimental studies and analyze networking related performance
  4. Able to formulate and solve engineering problems
  5. Able to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a wide context for supporting new web-services, web applications, and e-commerce applications.

(P1)(P2)(P3)(P5) as a group by teaching the elements of network, and the principle/mechanisms of designing a large networking system. The teaching includes lectures, tutorials, assignments, and exams.

 

(P8)(P10)(P11)(P13) as group by teaching on the impacts of large networking systems on top of which all web applications are constructed. This group is implicitly discussed in the course.
