Brief Bio

I received Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. Currently I am affiliated with the same department as a research assistant professor. Prior to this present appointment, I was a research fellow in the Institute for Infocomm Research at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore. Early on I was working as an intern in Microsoft Research Asia (with Natural Language Computing Group) for many months during 2006-2008.

Research Interests

I am focusing on effective techniques for cross-lingual query processing, and cross-lingual and cross-domain adaptive ranking for Web search. I also worked on opinion retrieval and mining, and is obsessed in a long run by machine translation and automatic transliteration of named entities.
