My exchange journey at Peking University (PKU) was a deeply rewarding experience that exceeded my expectations. I was immediately immersed in PKU’s fervent research culture, where even first-year undergraduates are actively engaged in scientific inquiry—a refreshing contrast to my previous experiences. As an aspiring Quantitative Finance professional, I found PKU to be a hub of opportunity; the synergy between its top-tier Business and Computer Science schools provided unparalleled access to industry insights, internship channels, and a vast alumni network that truly opened my eyes. Beyond academics, this exchange was a liberating opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. Freed from the usual GPA pressures at CUHK, I explored disciplines outside my Engineering major, such as Art history, and connected with exchange students from around the globe. Their diverse perspectives have reshaped my values and reignited my motivation for the future.
